Math Lab Evaluation Paper

The Math lab assessment Have you at any point been to a spot that is discouraging, miserable, and completely detached? In the event that not, at that point by all methods try to pass by and visit the math lab. As an understudy of the University of South Alabama I have been approached to assess the math lab by my administrator. My director had gotten different grumblings by understudies, therefore I have been approached to watch the math lab record what I saw and record any proposals for change. During this assessment I will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the earth in the math lab. This assessment will fill a need for both present and future math students. As you enter the fifteen hundred square foot room the primary thing you will see is around fifty PCs to your right side against the divider and in the focal point of the room there are ten round tables with six PCs on every one, some of which are assigned for testing just concerning the others they are utilized for cl asses. There are an aggregate of one hundred and fifty PCs. The room has a few spaces isolated by brief parcel dividers that do next to no to square sounds and fill almost no need. There are understudy laborers strolling around that guide the understudies as needed. There are likewise numerous understudies all through the room at their individual PC station. At the hour of my perception there were no classes in progress and all the educators were in their office, which are situated at the most distant finish of the lab. The math labs long stretches of activity are Monday through Thursday from nine am to nine pm and nine am to five pm on Friday they are shut on Saturday however open again on Sunday from three pm to nine pm. Despite the fact that there isn't a class in meeting you will even now observe understudies attempting to satisfy their necessary minutes in the math lab that has been relegated each week by their professor.Tutors and educators are accessible during every single wo rking hour to help understudies. Understudies seem, by all accounts, to be not able to center because of different interruptions like the steady clamor of a portion of the math coaches messing with each other and the lights flashing all through the room is additionally very diverting. The PCs are found just a foot or so separated so if anybody somehow managed to sit close to you and make any sort of development like essentially delete something or compose, shakes the entire table. The sound of understudies that are going back and forth all through my perception since it is a work at your pace kind of educational plan. The temperature in the lab was sixty five degrees which for a chilly nature individual would be awkward making it hard to read easily for an extensive stretch of time. A portion of the guidelines that are authorized inside the math lab are as per the following no PDAs, no eating, no drinking, and no music. I would make the accompanying changes in the math lab to make it an increasingly beneficial and diligent environment.Starting with the commotion level of the room I would make the coaches mindful of the grievances in view of their activities and the impact on understudies they have caused. Furthermore I would space the PCs further separated that are against the dividers. I would likewise include singular parcel dividers between every PC therefor blocking routine clamors made by working understudies. This additionally gives protection when attempting to focus and study making the understudies increasingly agreeable and ready to work unobtrusively. I would bring the temperature up in the space to seventy two degrees which is a perfect temperature.Although rules are extremely fundamental It is a reality that music can assist understudies with holding and understand information consequently I would change the standard and permit understudies to tune in to music however just with singular ear buds. The recommendations were actualized and understudies concurred that the security of the individual spaces made it a considerably more agreeable learning condition; they had the option to get increasingly practiced in a shorter measure of time. The mentors were progressively aware and endeavored to be exceptionally useful as well as could be expected. Permitting the understudies to tune in to music helped them to center and not to feel so pushed when working. The temperature was set at seventy two degrees. Understudies and workforce both concur that it was a perfect temperature. The lights were fixed and no longer glint besides they don't bring on additional interruptions. The room is not, at this point a miserable appalling spot nor is it unresponsive yet now the environment is pleasant. Understudies not, at this point fear setting off to the math lab and their evaluation midpoints have kept on going up. So generally speaking I would have given it a C short before any progressions were actualized however after I would give it An in th e wake of seeing the positive outcomes.

Tips for Choosing a Plastic Surgeon - Free Essay Example

Tips for Choosing a Plastic Surgeon So you’re considering plastic surgery for a certain problem you may face. Congratulations, as the choice is usually not an easy one, for many reasons why you may want plastic surgery, the main goal is to make you feel better about whatever imperfection is ailing you. When it comes to trying to do your best and look your best, you want the best to actually do the work for you. Not someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing, and who can actually cause complications. This article will give you a summary of what to look for when it comes to choosing the right surgeon for the desired tasks you need. Be Sure To Ask All the Right Questions It’s not as easy to find the right plastic surgeon as one thinks. Most insurances won’t cover plastic surgery (unless it is a medical emergency requirement), even though it would be great if they did. You can’t just go to a Dr. who will say that you can get an augmentation surgery done and refer you to a plastic surgeon. In most cases, you need to do your own research and want to make sure that the surgeon is a very credible source with the right success stories and minimal to no lawsuits. Therefore, ask the right questions to yourself. How Good is My Surgeon? When it comes to this, ask yourself and research your surgeon’s level of expertise. Make sure your surgeon is certified properly, and licensed by a credible school of plastic surgery. There aren’t very many plastic surgeons out there, and for good reason; it takes a lot of surgery to make people feel comfortable with the way they look, and if anything happens, it’s on their hands. Plastic surgery isn’t a very easily trained form of surgery, and it’s like an art form. How Many Surgeries Have You Done of this Type? Just like other surgeons, it never hurts to get more than one opinion if necessary. When you’re choosing your surgeon, and you know what surgery you want, make sure your surgeon has done numerous successful operations. Ask your surgeon what the majority of surgeries they performed were, and you want the surgeon to say that the surgery you’re wanting is on their top priority. But don’t just believe it either; make sure they can back up their story with evidence, because many plastic surgeons can say that they’re able to do your surgery. What About Lawsuits and Success Rate? Another thing to be sure and ask the surgeon you choose is how many successful surgeries they’ve had. Make sure that they have a TON of reviews that aren’t just 5 star reviews (while it is common to see many, that’s great, but there should be some 4 star reviews. If there’s not, then you might think this surgeon is too good to be true, and that’s often the case). You can usually see a photo diary of plastic surgeons’ work when you’re considering surgery by them with pictures they take before and then again after the surgeries. Ask to take a look at those, and they can give you the proof you may need. You want to make sure that there are more than one post operation photo so you can see various angles, and see success rates over time to ensure their work is still holding up later after the healing process ends.

Conflict English free essay sample

Conflict is the true test of an individual’s internal strength and understanding, encountering conflict can evoke an individual to reassess their values, morals and beliefs’, staying true is the best way to deal with the animosity. It is through this that social order can deteriorate into conflict and anarchy with disturbing ease; it is a fear of difference and is not always easy to distinguish the innocent from the guilty in contesting situations. Conflict can be the struggle between the protagonists or antagonists against nature, contradictory emotions or opposing forces, manipulating an individual to fulfill the desire of one’s unmeasured flame. Applying a prevailing and emphatic depth into the concept of internal and external conflict, the texts Othello composed by Shakespeare and 1984 devised by George Orwell, attracts the audience to see, feel and experience the compelling turmoil’s that erupt. The consequences of racial discrimination, the contrasting of a democracy and a totalitarian society, reality and derealisation, along with the animosity and momentum to seek revenge and justice, to enhance the audiences understanding and interpretation of these conflicts. Jealously is the obsession and anxiety, the arena possed into a phantasm of internal conflicts, a web of a world dictated by negative emotions, insecurities and fears, infecting an epidemic upon a victim’s identity and true morals to deal with a repugnant conflict. Shakespeare evokes the delusion of jealously through the luminary Othello, over the anticipated phantasm of Desdemona’s and Cassio’s infidelity. The shrewd Iago develops an art work of conflict to erupt, this is highlighted within, O, beware, my lord, of jealousy! It is the green-eyed monster, which doth mock the meat it feeds on. The prime instigator of conflict is internal insecurity and fear, the obsession of jealously corrupts Othello’s psychological sanity. The symbolism represents Othello’s dismal interior emotions, a spector lurking within his mind and soul, manipulating this victim’s true values and morals. Iago’s speech is deeply ironic, highlighting Othello’s aberrations, the root to this tragedy, to further mislead this luminary. The responder identifies that Othello is eminently insecure about his personal qualities and marriage, the ambiguity becomes delirium as the psychological dismay consumes within this victim, prompting an epileptic fit to materialize. The jealously appears to be a tiger that tears not only its prey but also its own raging heart. The capacity to formulate judgements is elusive, which provoked the death of Iago, Emilia, Desdemona and Othello, it is not love that is blind, but jealously, it is the internal conflict that engulfs and tears away Othello’s human sole. The conflict strikes the audiences sense of the human condition. The corruptive nature of jealously exposes Othello’s true internal weakness to deal with conflict, this is embroiled among Winston Smith as he struggles with the internal battle to differentiate between reality and derealisation in the perception of the totalitarian society which consumes this victim. The tragedy can be interpreted as the viewer being forced to confront its own human frailty in witnessing the event of the play. The internal conflict of jealously is irrational and requires non substantial evidence to trigger it, but is an aspect of being human, conveying that the greater the love the greater the potential for jealously to erupt, evoking a manipulation upon ones values, morals and beliefs. Often the most arduous, tantalizing and engaging cases concerning what we are conscious of and the nature of the conscious subject are those connected to the sense of memory and reality. George Orwell immerses and identifies the mutability of the reality, derealisation and the existence of fact through memory to communicate the interior psychological conflict; an individual is confronted with when this fundamental human possession is manipulated to formulate a phantasm and distorted truth. â€Å"We shall squeeze you empty and then fill you with ourselves† â€Å"It is impossible to see reality except by looking through the eyes of the Party† There are no rules or regulations for who will survive conflict and who will be destroyed from its force. The sensory details of touch and sight enhances the emotion that Big Brothers controlling government manipulates all internal aspects of an individual. The present reality will be conformed through the party’s laws, traditions and ideology’s, distorting the truth and all the authenticity divulged within life. The audience conveys that as derealisation enhances the alteration in the perception or experience of the external world appears to be eccentric and unreal; the environment resembles an absence of spontaneity, emotional colouring and depth, contrasting to the authenticity of reality. The psychological connections between Winston Smith and Othello are formulated through the internal battle to stay true to core values, morals and beliefs when dealing with the animosity. The conflict of the party being enabled to control and manipulate the encounters of the past, formulating an altered present truth while subduing the minds of innocent humans erupts. The internal strength and understanding of Winston Smith becomes embroiled and absorbed through the power and manipulating force of the party’s propaganda. Racial superiority is mere pigments of the imagination that infiltrates individuals by devaluing their identity and secluding there embodiment from society. Within the play Othello an eminence is conveyed that the concept of nationality is acquired to segregate and promote conflict in relation to the context, among the individual by evoking attention to insignificant differences of skin tone. Even now, now, very now, an old black ram is tupping your white ewe† â€Å"Moor† The racial conflict and connotations associates Othello with a Barbary hose through animal imagery, degrading this victim to the level of a repulsive, squalid animal, demoting the status, dignity, value and rank of this individual. The racist’s remarks and attitudes induces Othello to be deceived of Iago’s poignant intentions. The symbolism exposes society’s perspective of a black man, signifying the term â€Å"moor† repeatedly to express the racist attitudes of the Elizabeth an era. The responder interprets that although a powerful man in the political context, race compels this victim to be perceived as inferior in a white man’s society. Iago is able to trick and manipulate Othello at a consistent basis due to the environment that he is exposed amongst. It can be perceived within Othello and 1984, social order can deteriorate into anarchy with disturbing ease, when an individual is unable to differentiate between the innocent from the guilty in situations of conflict. The internal insecurities and vulnerabilities seduced this dictator, engulfed by an inner weakness; the audience is enabled to associate the conflict of racism within society along with the psychosocial damage it can generate. Racial conflict, however subtle, is never harmless, it can and does have tragic consequences. George Orwell exposes the dominant expression that a totalitarian society controlled by a political agenda forces a conflict and manipulation upon the past, present and the future, forcing the social order of the totalitarian agenda to deteriorate with disturbing ease. Big brother is watching you†Ã¢â‚¬Å"Who controls the past controls the future, who controls the present controls the past† This formulates a menacing feeling of an evil or repulsive environment through the sensory detail. This is repeated, reinforced and identified among the character Winston Smith, concurring his psychological battle to deal with the continuous strains and ambition to freedom , independence and democracy, along the manipulation upon the past, present and future that erupts within the contesting society. The responder identifies the potent conflict within the context as the dominate authority masks the truth that the historical records and print media, is being endlessly fabricated and tailored to conform to the government’s current position, further enhancing the Partys power over the people. The abolition of interpersonal relationships, the destruction and subverting of families, and the removal of all endearing emotions, feelings of dissent and dissatisfaction creates widespread insecurity and vacillation, which the Party exploits to nurture a mutual emotional attachment to Big Brother. As a consequence the social order becomes distorted into a phantasm of a manipulated authenticity. Represented through the conflict within the context, the dictating Big Brother within nineteen eighty four, along with racial discrimination in Othello withholds congruent similarities, while the individuals Othello and Winston Smith concord the inner emotion to challenge the superior, fighting the right for freedom and salvation, in order to prevent the social order from deteriorating. George Orwell demonstrates and indicates the different ways in which the party obtains and maintains power in Oceania to create corruptive conflicts and consequences within society. Manipulating individuals to perceive the perspective that the party is innocent when masked behind a guilty soul, to immerse individuals such as Winston Smith into a world of oppression, injustice and persecution. Life is rarely without conflict, it is an unavoidable part of being human, there are no rules for who will survive and who will be destroyed by its force, however staying true to core values is the best way to deal with its corruptive nature. Through the texts Othello and 1984, conflict is exercised amongst an individual’s internal strength and understanding and as a consequence of the animosity, the social order can deteriorate with disturbing ease, as for it is not always easy to distinguish the innocent from the guilty in situations of conflict. These composers have illustrated and reinforced the resonate component of conflict, to enhance the audiences perception and contemplate what it is to be human and experience this vehement emotion. Women of the age thirteenth or fourteen were married of to a much older man. Juliet was thirteen when lord Capulet thought of marrying her to Paris, a much older man. The reason of this is because they would want a babe boy. To continue the heir of the family. Juliet agreed to marry Paris until she meet Romeo and fell in love with him. She then disobeyed her father and refused to marry Paris. As she was in love with Romeo. Disobeying her father she knows she has to suffer the consequence. In Elizabethan times men were head of the house what ever they said was expected to be obeyed. Women were controlled by the males. Women at the ages of thirteen and fourteen were married of to a much old man. Men were less responsible they would do anything they pleased. The children of them times would be bought up by a Nurse. Capulet is head of the family. Like all Elizabethan fathers he is expected to be obeyed. Capulet is a kind considerate father. Capulet discusses his daughters marriage with Paris. She is the hopeful lady of my earth. The things he says about Juliet shows she is very close to his heart and his words suggest she is very important to him as she is the only surviving child of Lord Capulet. Lord Capulet is well liked in the community. He invites many local people to attend the Capulet party. All attended and even some extras. Through fair Verona, find those person but whose names are written there, and to them say my house and welcome on their pleasure stay. Capulet is insisted on being obeyed as he is head of the household and shows that he demands total respect and expects to be obeyed from all members and servants of the family. Am I the master here, or you? An example of Capulets temper is when Juliet refuses to do as she is told and Capulet gets furious. I tell thee what, get thee church o Thursday or never after look me in the face. The reason Capulet gets angry is because he is being disobeyed and he demands respect. Capulet is very cruel and heartless when Juliet disobeys him. He hurls abuse at Juliet, calling her names which would have been incredibly insulting in the Elizabethan times because she refused to do as she was told and didnt want to get married to Paris. Out, you green-sickness carrion! Out, you baggage! Lady Capulet is seen as a typical well -to-do lady of the Elizabethan period. She didnt have much to do with the bringing of her daughter Juliet. Lady Capulet is a very much loyal, obedient wife and mother. .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 , .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .postImageUrl , .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 , .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:hover , .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:visited , .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:active { border:0!important; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:active , .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199 .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uc76131fa9783281cd3c744b3b3003199:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: How effectively does Priestly communicate his message to the audience in Act 1 EssayWhen she discusses her daughters marriage to Paris she panics because she doesnt really know much about her own daughter as she didnt have much with bringing her up. So she calls the Nurse back into the room needing her help to persuade Juliet to accept Paris. Nurse, come back again. I have rememberd me, thous her our council. The Nurse talks about the important events in Juliets life. She could have run and waddled all about. It is also obvious that her husband has been a father figure to Juliet. Lady Capulet tells Juliet she must obey her father and marry Paris. She upholds her husbands position as head of the household. Marry, my child, early next Thursday morn. She expects Juliet to be happy to marry Paris and passes Capulets wishes to Juliet. We see lady Capulets cruel, uncaring side as Juliet refuses to obey her father she brings dishonour on the family. Talk not to me, for Ill not speak a word. We see the irony of her words as Juliets death occurs very soon after. They also reveal her cold, callous side as she is unwilling to support her daughter. Juliet is the only surviving child of Lord and Lady Capulet. Juliet was thirteen years old, which was consider old enough for her to get married in Elizabethan society. She is not a typical submissive daughter. She agrees to consider Paris as her husband but then falls in love with Romeo. Juliet is very fond of the Nurse and shares her secrets with her. Juliet was raised by the Nurse ever since she was born. This shows that there is a strong bond between the two like mother and daughter. She share all her secrets with the Nurse particularly those about Romeo. The Nurse is like a mother to Juliet. I faith I am sorry that thou art not well. Sweet, sweet, Nurse, tell me what says my love? Juliet is very quick to betray her family honour when she discovers Romeos identity. Juliet knows that her families would never agree to their marriage as Romeo is the son of her fathers enemy. My only love sprung form my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and know too late. Prodigious birth of love it is to me that I must love a loathed enemy. Juliet is stubborn and refuses to marry Paris, disobeying her fathers specific orders. As she is in love with Romeo. England had a strong catholic tradition and having to husbands was not legal. Juliet made it very clear that she will not marry Paris. Unfortunately she is unable to tell her parents as it would result in Romeos death. Now, by Saint Peters church, and peter too, He shall not make me there a joyful bride! The only thing Juliet now had left was the Nurse even her she losses when the Nurse tells her to forget Romeo and to marry Paris as the Nurse is on her parents side, fearing she may lose her job and leave the Capulet family. Speakest thou from the heart? Juliet then realises she has no-one to turn to for support. The Nurse was a loyal family servant; she is employed by the Capulets, as a wet nurse. She treats Juliet as her own daughter. The Nurse is very fond of Juliet she treats her like her own daughter and supports her when ever she has any problems with Romeo accept. The Nurse bought up Juliet ever since she was born and has always been there for her. Thou wast the prettiest babe that eer I nursed. She is also aware of the feelings of the Capulets and Montagues. .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 , .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .postImageUrl , .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 , .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:hover , .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:visited , .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:active { border:0!important; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:active , .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5 .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u577a173b191be5a484ca0d710cdd3db5:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Drama portfolio two EssayHie you hence to Friar Lawrences cell, There stays you a husband to make you a wife. The Nurse fails to support Juliet when is told to marry Paris and lets Juliet down badly. The reason the nurse tells Juliet to forget Romeo and marry Paris is because she backs Juliets parents. Romeos a dishclout to him. Fearing the Capulets would find out she was meddling with the families business and she would be throw out the house and nobody would then employ her knowing she isnt trustworthy and her life would have been ruined. The young members of the families play an important part in the play. They braw at every opportunity to maintain their family honour. They are sons of wealthy people the Capulets and Montagues. They dont have much to do in their time. Tybalt is the cousin of Juliet. The young Capulets and Montagues are always ready to fight each other and this causes problems and anger in Verona. Prince Escalus anger towards the behaviour of the Capulets and Montagues threatens the families with death if theres another incident as it has just gone too far. If ever you disturb the our streets again, Your lies shall pay the forfeit of the peace. Not only the young members of the family fight but even the servants see it as their duty to fight and insult each other. Do you bite your thumb at us, sir? This was regarded as a rude gesture, a serious insult, and they would fight over it. They would find anyway to start a fight. As they have nothing else to do. Tybalts desire to protect the family honour is cause of two deaths. He is the man agitator of the young men. Romeo went to the Capulets party uninvited but not causing any problems. Tybalt sees Romeos presents and sees it as an insult on the family turning up uninviting. Here Tybalt is being belittled and treated as a child by his uncle. It fits when such a villain is a guest; Ill not endure him. This causes Tybalt to desire revenge upon Romeo which he performs later on in the play which results in his own death. This event has transformed Tybalts hatred into more personal hatred towards Romeo rather than just hatred for the whole Montague family. Tybalts use of language makes his character appear determined and adamant. He is an argumentative young man which you can see in the way he speaks to his uncle about what he wishes to do. He looks out for trouble and loves fighting which is why he desires to fight Romeo. I think Shakespeare has explored the theme of family values. He has shown how the families get along. The males are head of the household and accepted total respect and obedience. What they said was expected to be done. If not they had to suffer the consequences. The 21st century audience can learn that families shouldnt fight they are many other ways to settle a problem. Your family is they closes thing that you will have throughout your life, and they people you can trust.

Summary and review for one chapter Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Summary and review for one chapter - Essay Example In the Old Testament, animals were sacrificed by the High Priests. The blood of these sacrifices and the broken bodies of the animals were teaching the people that Jesus would come as Savior. These rituals were preparing the people for the time that Jesus would come and sacrifice his person for all the world. Other teachings about sacrifice are found in Jeremiah and Isaiah. It was prophesied by these prophets that the servant or Son would make the greatest of all sacrifices. Unlike Abraham that was willing but had his hand stopped before sacrificing his son, the Father would allow the son to be sacrificed in the case of Jesus. This was necessary for salvation. In the Mass, as in the old days, the priests are the most important participants in worship. All participants are considered priests during the Mass and the Eucharist, but only an ordained priest can oversee the change of the Eucharist and officiate in the Mass. This shows us that the purpose of the Eucharist is to remind us of the sacrifice of Jesus that makes salvation possible for all that will follow

Research methods (the development of Abu Dhabi) Essay

Research methods (the development of Abu Dhabi) - Essay Example 5. To study the role of Connectivity in the urbanization of Abu Dhabi. Without connectivity no city can be developed to it's fullest for which this objective has to be studied in order to achieve the hypothesis. 6. To study the identity and opportunity as a factor for urbanization of Abu Dhabi. In order for a city to develop it is important that many opportunities are given to the people who live there. It also gives a strong identity. Abu Dhabi till 2030 will be all this to it's its residents. Thus this objective will help in supporting the hypothesis. Every great leader dreams of expanding and enlarging his domain, as did the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Today Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE as well as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, continues to enhance the vision. The Plan set out by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed provides a contemporary and culturally compassionate platform for the urban development of Abu Dhabi city. The main values outlined by the government for determining the growth of the city under Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, are that, Abu Dhabi will continue to be a current appearance of an Arab City, where the people maintain a healthy and supportive lifestyle. However, this kind of massive expenditure requires a plethora of studies and researches, there are many things to consider for instance the economic outlook, real estate development, sustainability, evolving culture and environment, opportunity and connectivity. A specific kind of research method must be used for the above mentioned factors in order f or this plan to be carried out successfully. The number one thing to be reviewed is the actual vision of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed. Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 should be deeply studied, so that to fully understand which direction His Highness would like to point Abu Dhabi towards. One must understand whether he would prefer to keep his culture and develop the city within the guidelines, or develop the city with a baseline of his cultural heritage adding to it the modern ways, or would he like to completely move away from the cultural side and move towards a modern and innovative city. As per his plans mentioned on September 21st 2007, he would like to evolve the metropolitan into a global city without loosing the Arab culture. The weakness of this study however can be that His Highness might change his mind along the way and decide to change the vision completely. However considering the amount of investment involved in this project, this is very unlikely to happen. "The

A Perspective on the Influence of College Clubs Essay Example for Free

A Perspective on the Influence of College Clubs Essay College clubs have been a part of university life since the very first fraternities and sororities were created. If the student so chooses, he or she can make college an experience to remember by joining a club. They range from things like journalism and math to sports such as soccer or lacrosse. People who join these clubs tend to have a background in the topic or at the very least, an interest in learning about it. There is a club for everything you can think of, and if there isn’t, it is not that hard to start one. Clubs in college, although similar to those in high school, are quite different in the types of people and the variety of cultures brought together by the sheer size and caliber of a college. The importance and benefits of college clubs cannot be numbered, not just for the students but also for the community. Though there are myriad benefits to joining a college club, some have brought up possible problems with joining or being able to join clubs. Academically speaking, college clubs have interfered with a student’s productivity, particularly in the areas of homework and studying. This leads into the economic issues with college clubs; students sometimes have trouble being able to pay fees to join clubs that they would like to join and therefore can be deprived of the experience simply because of financial issues. Finally the social perspective: some sociologists have been led to the conclusion that college clubs have, in several cases, caused social problems for students because of the connections people unknowingly make between a club name or topic and a preconceived notion about what it may concern. These arguments, while valid, do not outweigh the benefits derived from joining clubs. Joining a club during your freshman year of college is a great way to meet people who have similar interests. Finding friends in college can be difficult. College clubs can help change that because they bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds and create a common ground where they can discuss their ideas about a certain topic in a safe environment without having to worry about being ridiculed. College clubs are a way for people to establish their own socioeconomic status, or SES, within the campus and dictate their values. Depending on the clubs available, people join the ones that will most suit them and create a reputation just by the clubs they join. The various options come with various consequences and outcomes during and after college. Marybeth Walpole, an Assistant Professor at Rowan University, has discovered that the clubs one joins have been proven to shape the way one progresses through college, and, in some cases, completely alter the way one views the world after college. John Foubert and Lauren Grainger explored the psychological development of students in their freshman year and those in their senior year and the differences between the two. They found that students who get involved during their freshman year show more development over the course of the four year period and are more likely to continue to join clubs and find ways to involve themselves on campus. Clubs have a very influential and positive impact on both the students that participate in them and the campus, or community, where they take place. Research on college clubs has been tested and revealed several interesting facts about the correlation between academic performance and being part of a club. In general, taking part in a club has little to no effect on doing well academically in school. This generalization, taken from the statistical analysis of a collection of survey responses conducted by Myrnell L. Martin, a graduate of Missouri West, is applied with the knowledge that most clubs are non-academic and instead support extra-curricular activity. Many believe that clubs can interfere with homework and study time in a student’s life. This can be true if the student is unorganized and is unable to manage a schedule. With this in mind, a club can therefore act as a tool to help the student manage time more wisely. For most college students, participation in a club allows the student to have a basis on which he or she can create a schedule and arrange their daily lives. Homework and studying should not take a backseat to clubs but certainly does not have to as long as the students takes into account the amount of work that must be done both for the club and outside of the club. This concept, of successful time management, learned by the student because of joining a club in college, can then be applied outside of college in the working world. Joining a club can quite possibly cost a lot, depending, of course, on the club. Clubs whose fees are higher generally have smaller group and a much more developed program. Most clubs only require a few dollars out of pocket, perhaps twenty-five dollars at most, at the very beginning for small purchases here and there. Those clubs that don’t require any fees are usually the most populated and will have a greater chance of bringing people from very diverse backgrounds together. Although clubs may charge fees, many clubs will have payment options or even sponsorships from various third parties. This is truly beneficial for students who are stretched to the limit financially, especially at expensive universities. Paying for club participation is usually a sign of quality, and leads to an enriched environment in which the student can take more away from the experience. When clubs charge a fee, it means they have either activities planned for the club or possibly some food and paraphernalia throughout the year. While having to pay for a club does not sound like the most exciting thing in the world for college students, it will most likely to lead to a more rewarding experience and more enjoyment from that club. College clubs have their place on campus, and are often widely recognized as important contributors to the campus as a whole. In special cases, clubs have developed into organizations that play a major part in the goings-on on campus. These include student governing organizations and the like which have developed because students take an interest in government and ruling ideals which help these students later on in life because they learn about the democratic process in a hands-on environment, as well as leadership skills that can be applied across the board. Clubs have a history of improving campus life and involving students in societal projects to better the community. Edward Hartshorne conducted research in this field and discovered that college is the ideal place for continuous club organizations and their universal impact on the campus. He reasons that each student’s impact spans for an approximate seven year â€Å"generation,† where there are the three years ahead of the student as a freshman and then the three years behind the student as a senior. This provides for a perpetuation of ideas through normal contact which results in a link that can span for as long as the club or organization decides to continue. This continuation of clubs and ideas transforms into a sort of â€Å"college culture†, described by Hartshorne as the upholding of certain social â€Å"norms†, which were established long before each generation arrived and will continue to endure after that generation departs. I, myself, am currently involved in Cal Poly Club Lacrosse as well as Formula SAE, and feel I am better for it. It allows me to escape from the academic side of college and do physical exercise in a manner that suits me. I love playing lacrosse and though I find it hard to make the time commitment I have always been able to push myself to make time in my schedule for everything I need to get done. Club lacrosse helps me to organize myself because it creates a time pressure situation where I must manage my time wisely and complete the homework necessary before I plan time for myself. Although I have had less time to do the things I want to do, such as hang out with friends, I still am able to do these activities, just in moderation. However, I accomplish more because I strive to do better so that I don’t have to stress out over the small things. Lacrosse has also been an outlet for me to find new friends on campus which I can rely on because I know that lacrosse is important for them as well. Formula SAE allows me to utilize what I’ve learned in school and apply it to real life situations by designing a racecar to compete against other schools. I have learned a lot from both the club experience and the other members of the club. This club also allows me to spend time with other engineers who are interested in cars. Clubs have definitely made a difference in my life at Cal Poly and I’m that they can do the same for all college freshmen.

Possible People Responsible for the Death of Romeo & Juliet :: Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

Two households, both alike in dignity? From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life, Whole misadventured piteous overthrows Do with their death bury their parents' strife? -Chorus As these words echoed through the hall of the Globe theatre little did William Shakespeare know that this tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, would be examined and admired by playwrights for decades to come. So does fate play a major part in this tragedy? Or does their blood stain the garments of civil hands? Could it have been the loyal Mercutio, who swore on both their houses Tybalt the hated enemy? or was it Friar Lawrence who tried to end the fighting between households. Or does the blame go on the ancestors who began it. Many would agree that the death of these lovers cannot be blamed on anyone but themselves. This question cannot be answered without looking deeply into each characters involvement in the tragedy. In many ways Mercutio can be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. If he had not persuaded Romeo to come to the Capulet?s Ball Romeo would most likely have never fallen in love with Juliet. If Romeo hadn?t gone to the Capulets Ball, Tybalt would not have sought his life and in time forcing Romeo to be banished and Mercutio and himself dead. Or was it those few words that left Mercutios mouth when he knew he was dying? ?A plague on both your houses! I am sped. Is he gone, and hath nothing - Act 3, Scene 1, line 90. Could he have really put a curse on the Capulet and Montague households? That both families will come together at the result of death. From the very beginning of the play, Tybalt expressed how he hated peace. He would prefer to hate than to have peace with the Montagues. ?What! Drawn, and talk of peace? I hate the word, / as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. / Have at thee, coward! ? Act 1, Scene 1, line 67 Surely if he did not have such a hate for the Montagues he would not have gone after Romeo after seeing him at the ball. If he had held back his sword instead of smiting Mercutio, Romeo would not have been angered to murder and in turn be banished. But also when Juliet?s parents heard that there daughter?

Life Is Easier Essay

Living today is more comfortable and easier than when your grandparents were children. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Recently, my grandparents often recall how difficult their lives were when they were young, claiming that my generation has much easier lives than they had. I agree with them. In fact, life today is much more comfortable and easier than it was in my grandparents’ youth for some reasons. First, technology has made modern-day life much more comfortable than in the past. During my grandparents’ time, life was rough and hard because all the work was done without any modern tool, so they had to do their laundry by hand, walked from one place to another by feet. Furthermore, there was limited in entertainment choices in the past. They could at best listen to the radio or perhaps watch a black-and-white movie for pleasure. Today, however, living has become a lot easier thanks to technological developments. We launder our clothes with washing machine, uses buses, subways, or cars to move around. We also enjoy home theater systems, DVDs, and video games. Technology has definitely improved our lives. In addition, people today have more leisure time than they did before. People no longer have to work very long hours like my grandparents did. Since my grandparents were farmers, they had to work in the rice field all day long even without resting on weekends. In contrast, many people today, including my parents, simply work from nine to five on weekdays and take weekends off. They therefore have much free time than my grandparents did, so they can spend more time on leisure activities. They go to the movies, go to the gym, or take trips. All these activities have positive affect on their quality of living. In conclusion, people today have more comfortable and easier lives than in the past. This is the results of technological developments and the extra leisure time available. These factors will make our live even more comfortable in the future.

Essay about To Clone or not to Clone - 1703 Words

Human cloning is an extremely experimental and volatile area of scientific research with dubious and highly unethical results to date. Human cloning should not be performed by any means because it is highly likely it will create living beings not as they are intended to be produced. Rather, the results will be living beings which were created in an unnatural, man-directed way created by human choice. By acting this way, cloning gives people the power to play God. Human cloning generally has three main categories: therapeutic cloning, reproductive cloning and replacement cloning (Cloning Fact Sheet). The process is generally defined as the making of duplicates of biological material through genetic engineering or manipulation. The most†¦show more content†¦Another danger associated with cloning is the serious side effects on the mother carrying the clone. When the embryo is inserted into the mother, the mother has a significantly increased risk of death due to clone related diseases (â€Å"Cloning Fact Sheet†). Yet another danger of human cloning is the breakdown of the human family and its structure. In the situation where a male makes a donation of genetic material to provide a cloned human, the donor would not be a â€Å"father† of the cloned person, rather they would be genetic twins. Though the donor could potentially be much older than the clone, they would not have the family relationship as one would normally hav e in regular, natural reproduction. A more in depth investigation into the main process of cloning through somatic cell nuclear transfer reveals other issues. With this method, one of the most significant issues of cloning is that as the somatic cells divide, the cells age extremely rapidly (Rau). The result is that when the cells actually come together to form a living being, the actual age of the cells are much older than they would be had they progressed naturally and without man’s interference (Hanna). This extreme rate of cell aging can lead to serious issues and uncertainties about the general wellbeing and actual scientific age of the clone when it is born. For example, the first thing to be cloned by a somatic cell nuclear transfer was Dolly the sheep in 1997 (Hanna).
